There's an awful lot of misinformation out there about how to set the default font size for the menus and other screens in Eclipse. Most of the Eclipse fonts are configurable through the preferences screen in Eclipse, but a few are picked up from the operating system.
Some of the references out there have indicated that the way to set the font is through "font_name". That is not true. It's "gtk-font-name". Put a file into the home directory called .gtkrc-2.0 and put a line in there like this:
# configure the GTK+ default font for non-gnome apps
gtk-font-name = "Bitstream Vera Sans 9"

This year our family is travelling to the Pacific Northwest for our summer vacation. We've got friends getting married in Portland Oregon, and after the wedding we'll continue on to Seattle and Vancouver.

I just finished watching Serenity, which is a movie based on the Firefly series. The series only ran 14 episodes before it was cancelled. It's such a short series, but one of the best ever. Except for Babylon 5, Firefly was probably the best science fiction series ever to be on TV. The only reason I put Babylon 5 ahead of Firefly is that it managed to run for 5 years.
