Wednesday, 22 November, 2006. 07:50:24 PMI haven't travelled much this year compared to last year when I spent 6
months in hotels. I spent a week and a half in Columbus this summer, and
I'll be spending a week or three in Chicago before the end of the year.
Next year I might not be so lucky.
Wednesday, 08 November, 2006. 02:28:20 PMNow that the Democrats have taken both the House and the Senate, the
news media is going to shift gears. Instead of letting the criminals
in government cheat and steal without any oversight, the newspapers
and television networks are going to push their Britney Spears fare
off the front page.
Several people on the Daily Kos are correctly pointing out that the media is
in the right-wing's pocket (contrary to the popular but incorrect opinion
that the media is left-wing). We're going to see stories about body
armor, un-padded helmets causing brain damage, actual casualty figures, and
the tremendous sacrifice of the 20,000 wounded troops. The press is going
to ask what the Democrats are doing about those things, and they're not
going to be nice.
Republicans have been given a free ride on all those issues. I've
heard nothing BUT those issues for the past three years, because only
the progressive websites were covering those issues. Al Franken has been
a leader in raising awareness and funds to get the troops helmets that
don't cause brain damage. The Marines have those helmets already, but
the Army doesn't.
This is *common* knowlege among the Internet progressives, and now the
press is going to act like they just discovered the problem, and blame
it on Democrats.
We're ready for them.
