This is how the media is screwing us. Around the world, relevant and important news is covered. In the United States, we may as well just retire all the journalists and just watch Oprah.

Everything at my house has decided to stop working all at once. I don't have a working phone, my DSL is flakey, Alex's computer OS got trashed and needs reinstalling, and even the wireless network configuration on my work laptop completely disappeared. It's damn bizarre.

A company called Optaros is opening an office here in Austin. Optaros is headed by Bob Gett, who was the President of Cambridge Technology Partners for the first couple years that I worked there.

ABC chose to air their disgraceful documentary. There are many important details in there that are flat-out lies. It distorts events to paint GW Bush in a positive light and Clinton in a negative light. It is a defamatory piece, and thus opens ABC to various lawsuits. What a serious misstep for ABC and Disney.

Even American Airlines was smeared by the inacurracies. A completely fictional scene shows terrorists slipping through because of errors by American Airlines. In reality, the airline that let the terrorists through was not American at all. They had this to say:

Thank you for your email. The Disney/ABC television program, The Path to 9/11, which began airing last night is inaccurate and irresponsible in its portrayal of the airport check-in events that occurred on the morning of September 11, 2001. A factual description of those events can be found in the official government edition of the 9/11 Commission Report and supporting documents. Those are available online and I would suggest that you do you own research on them before making a decision based on an irresponsible docudrama that even ABC says is not necessarily factual.
ABC has stirred up a real shitstorm here. The number of people and companies that they have defamed is already large, and it can only get larger with the showing of part two tonight.

I've upgraded my DSL modem to an ActionTec model with an integrated firewall. It's a little more advanced than my old Speed Stream modem/Linksys firewall combo.

Three days of the dead celebrity croc hunter as the lead story on CNN. Meanwhile, dozens of people are getting killed in Iraq's civil war, and getting buried at the bottom of the page.

And, ABC is getting ready to air a fictional documentary written by the Republican party which distorts the facts to try to lay the blame for 9/11 on Clinton. In a fictional scene, Clinton is seen turning down a shot at bin Ladin for political reasons. High level DOD people have come out denouncing the documentary, pointing out that at no time did the CIA ever recommend to Clinton that they take a shot at bin Ladin. Thus, at no time did Clinton ever turn down a recommended shot.

ABC is incredibly irresponsible for airing this fictional account of the events just 3 months before a mid-term election. It stinks, and they know it. The people that were smeared by this fictional show have some very good reason to sue ABC for slander, and I think they'll win too.

The animal that eats grass, goes moo, and is prized by ranchers has no English name. We call them cows, but that term is only for the females. Cow is also a term used for females of other species, such as manatees. Bulls are the males of the species. Cattle is a plural term for these animals as a group. Bovine is a word used as an adjective to describe a quality of being like or pertaining to a cow or bull. There's no single English word that is the name of the species that goes moo, and is not also used for some other species that does not go moo.
