I'm going to ditch the X10 hardware that I've been using to reset my network when the connection fails. Currently a script attempts to load three major websites every 20 minutes, and if all three fail, the X10 controller cuts the power to both routers, the Vonage device, the switch, and the DSL modem for 30 seconds to reset it. The X10 controller hasn't been reliably receiving the commands, so my network has been down for up to a day at a time. This just doesn't work when I'm away and need to use my computers at home. The X10 protocol dates from the 1970s and is a bunch of junk anyway. I'm going with ZWave hardware instead, which is a reliable mesh network radio protocol. When the reset command is given, it will not be ignored, or lost. /n
