The WPA gui interface is not necessary. After the wpa_supplicant is successfully started, the dhclient should be able to get an address. /n

Steps to get the WPA supplicant working under Debian. 1) Use the passphrase to generate the section for the wpa_supplicant.conf file. 2) run the wpa_supplicant with the following command: wpa_supplicant -i wlan0 -d -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf 3) run the wpa_gui program (alternative is the wpa_cli program) to start up the network connection and negotiate the encryption. 4) use the dhclient wlan0 program to get a dhcp address. /n
